Out of the Dark
There’s a bright light shining ahead of me.
It’s calling for me, waiting patiently.
It bears so much promise, that I must hold.
To pursue that light, I have to be bold.
But shadows tried to grab and pull me back
to a place I’ve once been, all dark and black.
Tears fell down my face, as they took over,
bringing back pain, once again to endure.
I became weak, and I can barely see.
Then I was grabbed by the hand suddenly.
It was a gentle and comforting touch.
It took me away from the shadows’ clutch.
My sight, it cleared; my tears, it wiped away.
It was hope—in time to lead the right way.
