Our Precious Sense of Humor: A Rhyme to Inspire
Val enjoys writing his own style of what resembles poetry, just hoping to catch someone's heart on the same page.
A person without a sense of humor is like a wagon without springs. It's jolted by every pebble on the road.
-- Henry Ward Beecher
I got chronically infected with a bug of humor
not from enjoying too much of wine or beer
if you would listen to my neighbor's rumor
I think some nice stories you would hear.
For, I may be responsible for our elevator laughter
breaking uncomfortable silence with a one liner
leaving in my neighbors good vibes long after
even putting a smile on a chronic whiner.
Store owners or cashiers are nor spared
from my innocent and non-intrusive jest
a tone always well received and shared
as it's putting their own mood on a test.
Humorous exchange with strangers in park
always makes those walks particularly nice
while anything could really serve as a spark
from sensitivity to weather to new gas price.
Humor is undoubtedly a precious spice
improving something dull on our plate
and in health matters without a price
as it's simply making us feel great.
Al other feelings make us complete
but our sense of humor is that true star
turning the taste of life into something sweet
and making good friends of whatever else we are.
