Old Is Gold and Precious—Poem About Love, That Lasts a Lifetime

Chitrangada loves to express her moods and emotions, through her poems. Most of her poems are free style and spontaneous with Nature at core

A Heartfelt Poem To Celebrate Selfless Love And Togetherness!

If it comes from Heart, it touches Hearts!

Two for joy. You are blessed, if your life partner is also your best friend.

Two for joy. You are blessed, if your life partner is also your best friend.

Two is company! We love, share our joys and sorrows, stand with each other, no matter what!

Two is company! We love, share our joys and sorrows, stand with each other, no matter what!

As We Age, Love Also Grows, And Grows Stronger

Your first love,

Your first friendship,

Your first joke,

Your first toy—

—are but simple joys,

that have stayed years after,

those moments are gone.

They remain,

to comfort long after,

the kids of our kids,

are born.

Love becomes stronger as we age!

Love becomes stronger as we age!

Love grows stronger with time

Still the memories are fresh,

When we met first,

How little did I know then,

It would be difficult,

To live without you,

Even for a moment.

Remember the day,

When we promised each other,

That we can't fix every problem,

But we will face them together.

Bonding grows stronger with children around!

Bonding grows stronger with children around!

Old Is Gold And Precious

Growing old together has been fun,

Passing all the trials and tribulations,

Still holding each others hands.

Perhaps we love each other more,

Much more than yesterday,

But perhaps less than tomorrow!

I completely agree with you Radhika! It is important to express love sometimes by words or actions , by caring --It works as a reassurance that is very much required by both the partners.

Thanks for reading and sharing your thoughts! Much appreciated!

Radhika Sreekanth from Mumbai,India on February 24, 2017:

True love remains forever as said and seen over the lifetime...Some folks forget about words that can comfort their love. They believe that materials only are the means to show their love. Such people don't have any sense of how to love and show their affection.

Beautiful poem. Yes. I do believe love grows stronger with time. This year I will have been married to my husband for 30 years and I have to say the love I have for him is stronger today than yesterday. I love the song, "Endless Love." We played the Lionel Richie version at our wedding, but I enjoy this instrumental version much more.

I must now commend you Chitrangada. You just left a very lovely message on my poem, "Unspoken Vows," and you said it wasn't easy to surrender and have total submission in love; you gave me praise for being able to do that. Then I come to your page, and find that you do the same thing. You surrender to your feelings, and you talk and write about them, and it's lovely. I loved your words here. Thank you for sharing!
