"Kemet" Written in the Kemetian Language:

The crocodile scales represent "k", the owl "m", and the bread is "t". The crossroads inform the reader that this is a place. Therefore, it reads "K-m-t". We only get so much in glyphs; the pronunciation "Kemet" is a guess.

Kemet

Kemet was an ancient nation located above what was once Nubia (both are in what is now known as Egypt). It housed one of the wonders of the ancient world, and many other fantastic things. Not so long ago, I took a course on ancient Egypt offered by the 'University of Pennsylvania' (I earned an 'A+' in that class). I am currently studying at 'Towson University' where I am taking another class wherein we have learned more of that Kemet of some of our forefathers. Ever since I was a young child, I have been researching this fascinating area. One day I hope to visit that place where our ancestor (the queen Scotia) once set her lovely feet.

Oh Kemet!

Oh Kemet! Cradle of human language and the written word!
Oh Kemet! To your glory do we add an amen!
Oh Kemet! You who tried the prophets of old!
Oh Kemet! Motherland of culture and art!
Oh Kemet! Your Africans built the modern world!
Oh Kemet! You whose people raised the Gaels!
Oh Kemet! Wonders beyond wonders still with us today!
Oh Kemet! Your Nubian siblings have united with you!
Oh Kemet! Your black land; did it feed Abraham and Moses!?
Oh Kemet! We thank you for the contemporary Earth!
Oh Kemet! Your sins and virtues have not gone like sand!

Pamela Oglesby,

Kemet is just what the natives use to call it. It's usually what people mean when they say "ancient Egypt". I'm happy you found it interesting. You're welcome Pamela.

You're welcome friend. Much love brother.

Elijah A Alexander Jr from Washington DC on September 22, 2019:

Thanks for that understanding of Kemet, Alexander. I have been told by some who claims to be African scalars that the whole continent was once considered Kemet. Now you make me have to research it for myself. Very enlightening information so I again thank you.

Pamela Oglesby from Sunny Florida on September 21, 2019:

I just watched a show this morning about some of the finds and treasures in Egypt, but Kermet is something I really know nothing about, so I found your information quite interesting. Thank you for sharing this information.

Eric Dierker from Spring Valley, CA. U.S.A. on September 20, 2019:

Really good stuff. Thank you for bringing my attention to it.
