Oh My Precious Life, Please Move a Bit Slowly—Poem

Chitrangada loves to express her moods and emotions, through her poems. Most of her poems are free style and spontaneous with Nature at core

Life blossoms like flower, but then it's for a small period.

Life blossoms like flower, but then it's for a small period.

Oh My Dear Life, Please Move a Little Slowly—A Poem About The Journey, Called ‘Life.’

Please move a bit slowly,

for there are duties to perform,

for there are tears to wipe out,

for there are debts to be paid,

In your fast pace, Oh dear life,

Some close ones were left behind,

Some dear ones sulked,

Some dear ones got offended,

Move a bit slowly, Oh! Dear life,

For I‘ve to make amends with them,

For I’ve to make them smile, and laugh,

For I’ve to reconcile with them.

Quotes:

Life will always have a different plan for you. If you don’t give up, you will eventually get to your destination. But towards the end of your life, you may look back and realize that it was never really about the destination; it was the journey that counted.”

― King Samuel Benson

Oh life! Move a bit slowly.

Oh life! Move a bit slowly.

Move a bit slowly, Oh Life!

There are dreams to be fulfilled,

There are duties to be completed,

And then those unfulfilled desires,

Give me some time, so they are buried,

Some relationships got broken,

And the ones that couldn't be made,

Move a little slowly, Oh dear Life!

For there are many bruises to heal.

Move a little slowly Oh life!

For I have to prepare my loved ones,

Who live for me, and I for them,

Who breathe for me, and I for them.

Quotes:

“The difficulties of life are part of life’s journey on earth. Grace is needed for endurance.”

― Lailah Gifty Akita,

Do your best in life!

Do your best in life!

Oh My Dear Life!

Move a little slowly, Oh dear life!

You move ahead, and I will follow you,

As, Can I live without you?

Oh life! The path of life was long,

But we traveled with a song,

Fears and tears all along,

But the cheers made us move along.

Since there is a belief,

---and an assurance,

that 'GOD' does not want us to be the best,

But he wants us to do our best,

And 'He' will take care of the rest!

Thank you Isabella Allred, for your kind visit and positive thoughts!

I am glad that you liked the poem and the theme of the poem. You are right, we must spread love and peace as much as possible. Again this is for our own satisfaction.

Thanks for appreciating my hubs and the follow!

Marie Allred from Missouri City on January 28, 2018:

I love your hubs, I've read a few and this one really resonates with me. The idea that life is so short is a strange one to think about because I think some people take that sentiment to mean that they can do or say or act however they want and it doesn't matter, that you should be as insane and insensitive as you want because life is so short. I prefer to view it as the idea that we should uplift and love others because there is so little time for us to experience being human that we should make the most of it in that way. Anyway, just a few thoughts from me. Again, I love your hubs.

This is beautifully penned, Chitrangada. I can relate to much of what you have said here.

Yes, so much to do, and so little time. Life- each moment- is precious.

Chitrangada Sharan (author) from New Delhi, India on July 15, 2017:

Thank you Shyron for agreeing with the theme of the poem!

As I grow older, I am always preoccupied with such thoughts. There is so much to do and so little time left. I just wish that I leave this World a satisfied soul that I could fulfill all my duties and responsibilities.

Thanks for your blessings! It is needed every day.

Shyron E Shenko from Texas on July 14, 2017:

Chitrangada, this is beautiful story of how fleeting life can be, and our desire to slow it down.

Thank you Rachel L Alba, for your kind visit and comments!

I also feel the same as you. It usually happens with me that I get upset that there is so much to do and there is so little time left!! As if I know how much time --But the fact remains that I am not getting any younger and I want to finish all my commitments, responsibilities and duties before leaving.

Thank you and wish you a very Happy and Prosperous New Year 2016.

Rachel L Alba from Every Day Cooking and Baking on December 28, 2015:

I love your poem, it's so appropriate to my life. I'm always saying life is going by too fast. I think sometimes that I just try to cram too much into too little time. My fault. Thanks for sharing.

Have a Blessed new Year.

Chitrangada Sharan (author) from New Delhi, India on October 08, 2015:

Hi Shampa!

So good to see you after a long time.

I have also experienced similar situation that you have mentioned here. What I feel is that you can have control on your own behaviour and not on the behaviour of others. Of course we do try to make peace and resolve conflicts sincerely but sometimes that does not happen because the other party may not cooperate. It is best to remain calm and let the difficult phase pass by. Easier said than done but the best we can do is to move on!

Thanks for reading and appreciating the poem and I wish you all the best!

Shampa Sadhya from NEW DELHI, INDIA on October 07, 2015:

As the days are passing by the grip of life is gradually getting loose. What I feel sad about is, when dear ones misbehave for no reason and though I feel talking is important while the other side distance themselves then it becomes very difficult to reach them. There you are caught in the midst of such an agony which has no solution. As they say time is the best healer so maybe this passing time would heal some wounds and fill the gap too. Wonderful poem!

Chitrangada Sharan (author) from New Delhi, India on September 21, 2015:

Dianna Mendez on September 20, 2015:

I've said a prayer or two about extending my time so that I can make amends. You reminded me that life is short and we must live it humble and with love towards others.

No, I don't want 48 hours in a day.

I just want that whatever tasks the Almighty has assigned to me, I should be able to complete them to his satisfaction, before leaving this World.

Very beautiful poetry. It is true that life does not wait for us and passes quickly. We have to catch its speed and go along with it so that we can perform all our work with that speed and within that journey.

Kylyssa Shay from Overlooking a meadow near Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA on February 26, 2015:

Thank you for sharing your lovely poem about the fleeting nature of life.

Catch it while you can because it continues to accelerate with age. I take time every day to spend some time in the moment and then I write a unique sentence or several of them about the day. It seems to slow things down a bit.

Harish Mamgain from New Delhi , India on February 26, 2015:
