O Light, My Light: To My Dearest Nellieanna Hay at Christmas Time
Wisdom of Sri Chinmoy
"Light ...illumination ...a divine gift — an unconditional gift from the transcendental Supreme. -Sri Chinmoy.
Sweetness and Light
I see Your tender gaze, peeping … merging
With the wafts of orchids, in this enchanted garden.
The scent of Your beauty rushes my breath,
Carving its signature,
On the immaculate bouquet of my Heart.
The sweet gentleness of Thy Spirit,
Soothes the surrounding orchards,
Carrying a bouquet of celestial splendour.
O my Queen, forwards, upwards You march,
Raising Your banner of supernal Light.
Come! Come! Come! I’m so drunk today!
The charmed music of yon sparrow resonates,
Upon the hue of the virgin dawn, as the
Aroma of Thy heavenly wine, percolates my core.
Aye, You’re a star enwrapped, in the twilight of the night;
Unfold Your many mysteries, with the beauty of thy sight.
Light, my Light, You belong to my Heart…
A sweet yearning, that cannot be erased by sorrow.
Though I may face the pangs of a thousand shadows,
I will follow You through life and death.
How can a baby live without milk?
Of what use is existence, without the breath of Thy Love?
Remember, even though I’m trapped here by Ignorance,
My longing weeps, like heavy rains.
O Light, my Light… come!
