Ode to the Illumining Light. Monday's Inspiration 34. An Offering to my Spiritual Brother Venkatachari Ji

Manatita is an esteemed author living in London, UK. He writes spiritual books, flash fiction and esoteric poetry, his favourite genre.

Divali Lights

O Light, my illumining Light,

You elevate my Spirit, into the plenitude of Love.

Aye! I see You, dancing in the mulberry trees;

Whispering in the breath-taking magic of the dawn.

Flooding my core with Your carousel of splendour,

Your candela of brilliance awakens my flame,

Kissing the crest of the rainbow,

In peerless symmetry.

O Light, my illumining Light,

I am bewildered by Your Grandeur.

Embracing my soul with Thy wondrous lustre,

You untangle my cobwebs of millennia,

Only to overpower my soul,

With a million rays of perennial Joy.

O Light, my illumining Light, Come!

-Manatita, The Lantern Carrier. 16th April, 2018

The Lantern Carrier

Awakening The Inner Light

Mirabai, a 15th -16th Century Devotee-Seer, with unparalleled devotion among women to Sri Krishna

Wisdom-quote from The Master

" ...When I say Light, I am speaking about illumination. This illumination will first take place in the realm of the God-manifesting soul. Next it will take place in the aspiring heart, then in the searching mind, then in the dynamic vital and, finally, in the wakeful body...

Light embraces humanity with all its imperfections and tries to illumine human ignorance so the human life can be elevated into the divine life..." -Sri Chinmoy

"O Light, my beautiful Light,

Entering the dimensions of the soul,

You preen my Heart of ignorance,

Cascading a torrential downpour of infinite Bliss." -Manatita

Sweet elevating Light is all around us

Thank you my Dear Niki Ji.

I left for a hot country but it's cool and sometimes rain. London's better but yes, tough for the kids. How old are they. You can write if you like. Ceeccil@hotmail.com gratitude.

Nikki Khan from London on April 20, 2018:

Good to know about your busy work over there but as far as you're enjoying it and teaching others, it's worth it. Vegetarian food is hard to get in some countries but if you buy fresh and cook it, would be healthy and easy to get.

It's really hot in London, yesterday was 26 degrees, boiling but still love this weather.

My family is good but complaining of bleeding hot, really hard for school kids.

Carry on your good work brother, God bless you!

My Sweet Sister,

So kind of you to ask! I have spoken to about 50 people at 5 Seminars or workshops on spiritual living and we are doing well. I visit the City and surrounding areas daily to put A3 posters up in Shopping Malls and Village Markets. I hand out flyers on the streets. It is noble work but sometimes a little tiring. I have some lovely people helping me and the City is bustling with life.

Vegetarian food is hard to get here, but I manage by mixing things together. The weather is interestingly cool right now. Yes, Brahman is always merciful and yes, my Heart is full. Thank you for your kind attention to detail. How are the children and family? -Lantern

Beautiful tribute to Venkatachari Ji !

Diwali lamps are significant and symbolic, and the festival of Diwali is celebrated on the darkest night. You brought out the essence of illumination beautifully.

As always a wonderful tribute and poem. Thanks for sharing!

Yes, my Friend.

You read my poetry fully and you see what I'm doing. This one is all Light for sure. Light everywhere and that's why I assisted Li-Jen.

Some more poets here could see this.

Today I wanted to stay with this amazing gift of God which really is an aspect of God's enduring Love.

I am always encouraged by your kind words. Thank you so much!

Ioannis Arvanitis from Greece, Almyros on April 16, 2018:

Divali lights, your poem, the amazing words of Master Sri Chinmoy about light, Tagore's poem! All are Light! This Hub is Pure Light!

The best tribute to brother Vekantachari! I am so glad for him and for you.

Thank you for the Light of your Soul!

Hari Om!

Always a Joy to see you, my Dear Nellieanna... to know that you are well. Such a keen understanding too! I salute your loving and discerning Spirit and I know that you understand. My eternal Gratitude.

I thank you so much. Two of my favourite ladies together. I tend to give all the credit to God and Guru. A way of keeping the ego at bay, I suppose. I'm always greatful for your kind words.

Do you know I'm in Nairobi, Kenya? Lots of canvassing and classes. I have friends and at least it's temperate to hot. Higher blessings.

Nellieanna Hay from TEXAS on April 16, 2018:

Beautiful, my friend! But, what else would t be?

". . . Light . . . . illumination.. . ." Oh, yes!! Throughout the universe and in human hearts.

Fitting tribute to dear Venkatachari M, too.

Dora Weithers from The Caribbean on April 16, 2018:

Thanks for Chinmoy's quote explaining illumination. Of course your poetry consistently explains illumination applied.

A beautiful Ode, my Bro. I am much humbled by your offering. It's a testimony of our unmeasurable love for each other.

You have wonderfully brought out the true meaning of light and illumination through your poetry and nice quotes from Chinmoy and through the lights of Divali.

My blessings.

Li-Jen Hew on April 16, 2018:

Hi Manatita. Wow, you didn't give up on Love. I may know what's good but doesn't mean I always do good. Did u post the comments 5 times or must be some computer error...I accept your kind comment to pay you back. Haha. :)

manatita44 (author) from london on April 16, 2018:

The God_lover sees with the spiritual eye, Ji-Jen. You are a beautiful flame of Light Divine. You are a unique soul and have something special to offer to the world. I hope you believe this. Buddha bless you!

Li-Jen Hew on April 16, 2018:

Hi Manatita. Thanks for being understanding and taking time to explain the definition of Light and Divali. Oh you’re too kind. I think Frank already knows my true colours haha. X)

manatita44 (author) from london on April 16, 2018:

Hi Ji-Jen, be so kind as to allow me to explain.

Light is synonymous with Love and Love with Light. The ever-effulgent ... ever-transcending Light is the One of which I speak. Divali or Diwali, in the most profound sense of the word, implies this perpetual and everlasting Light.

It is that which awakens, transforms, illumines as Sri Chinmoy says ... reaches the Heart ... re-read his quote.

You are a sweet, charming soul and I dare say manifesting the Light yourself. Amitabha!

Li-Jen Hew on April 16, 2018:

Hello Manatita. Nicely done Divali Light poem with a purposeful tone. Useful to know the meaning of Light, thank you for that. And thanks for sharing. :)
