O Illumining Light, Come! Saturday's Inspiration 10. A Soulful Offering to Dana Tate.

Author:

Manatita is an esteemed author living in London, UK. He writes spiritual books, flash fiction and esoteric poetry, his favourite genre.

Wisdom from the Master

" ...Light is an unconditional gift from the transcendental Supreme ...when I say Light, I am speaking about illumination. This illumination will first take place in the realm of the God-manifesting soul. Next it will take place in the aspiring heart, then in the searching mind, then in the dynamic vital and, finally, in the wakeful body..." - Sri Chinmoy

Magnolias

o-illumining-light-come

Endlessly Singing a Song Called Love

They come and they go –

The intimacy of Spring; the dance of twinkling stars.

The autumnal rain beats upon my window;

I yearn for the kiss of the indigo moon.

When the child smiles, its snow-clad gaze,

Sweetens the intensity of the Heart’s joy.

Magnolias heighten the beauty of daybreak,

As the all-nurturing sun, heralds the fullness of dawn.

Yet I see only You, my Sweetheart, only You.

They come and they go … Yours is the thrill that doesn’t.

In my Light and in my darkness,

In the allure of the evening sun,

Lantern knows that You are the Breath of Breaths,

Singing Your Love-Songs endlessly in my soul.

Manatita, The Lantern Carrier. 1st September, 2018.

~Awakening The Inner Light ~

o-illumining-light-come

O Illuming Light, Come!

O illumining Light, resolve my Heart’s aching,

For this burning kiss of Love.

Day and night, I wander,

Lost in the twilight sleep of separation.

Long have I traversed this mental jungle.

My pangs are numerous; my pulse turbulent.

Steeped in a maze of numerous desires,

I long for the birth of the liberating dawn.

On the isolated strands of life, I travel,

Despair and loneliness my life-long friends.

My soul cries for the coming of my sunrise –

Thy sweet intimacy of fiery Love.

O illumining Light, Come! Wrap me in Thy golden lustre,

So that I can see my way Home.

-Manatita, The Lantern Carrier, 1st September, 2018.

Thanks Dana.

You have commented before. I thought that I had done another for you, but I can't seem to find it. Never mind. Thank you for coming. Peace.

Dana Tate from LOS ANGELES on November 06, 2018:

I could read this over and over again. Thank you.

manatita44 (author) from london on September 10, 2018:

You are very sweet and also receptive. I knew that you would understand. If you do not have, then you cannot give. Sometimes I am seemingly hard, but my Heart is offering.

I was thinking only today of the difference between the God-lover and the flatterer. The God-lover will always try to lift you up. God's blessings to you, my dear Dana.

Dana Tate from LOS ANGELES on September 10, 2018:

A word from the wise. Thank you for that.

Li-Jen Hew on September 05, 2018:

Thanks Manatita for the wish. :)

manatita44 (author) from london on September 05, 2018:

You will pass alright. Hard worker. Best wishes.

Li-Jen Hew on September 04, 2018:

Haha.. Hi Manatita

Miss you too. I like that you speak casually. Was busy preparing for my exam actually. I had to head home to study after work. Waiting for results. Good to see you again. :)

manatita44 (author) from london on September 04, 2018:

Hi stranger.

Miss you. Is all well. Get enough sleep.Thanks. Cheers.

Li-Jen Hew on September 04, 2018:

Hey Manatita...the poem portrays the need for Light in an interesting way...the pangs and the longing for dawn. Like a sweet tune too. It's like morning and morning is like a breathe of fresh air..hehe. Thanks for sharing. :)

manatita44 (author) from london on September 04, 2018:

Not to worry dear. It's an honour for me that you have come. It's been only a few days.

Here's a thought. Kind people get taken advantage of. This can be exhausting. Watch your energy.

As always, all my love to you Dana.

Dana Tate from LOS ANGELES on September 03, 2018:

Manatita, forgive me for taking so long to read and respond. I have been so busy and just got on to answerer questions on my hubs first and then the Lord, led me to this extraordinary tribute, for He knows I would have never forgiven myself if I had missed it. I wish I could express how much this means to me words alone could never express it. Rest assured I will be reading this over and over again. You are such a beautiful, wise soul, and I am sure a blessing for all who has encountered you. Again words will not express the way my heart feels so I won't even try, I'll just say...blessings.

manatita44 (author) from london on September 02, 2018:

Bill (chuckle)

You are fast becoming a wise philosopher. Ha ha. Thanks a lot!

Bill Holland from Olympia, WA on September 02, 2018:

A very lovely tribute to Dana! I have always thought the magnolia was a perfect metaphor for our human life....beautiful in full bloom, but age shows rapidly and then it is gone.

manatita44 (author) from london on September 02, 2018:

Yes, bro. That is quintessentially the whole thing. Beautiful, ain't it? Lol

Thank you so much!

Ioannis Arvanitis from Greece, Almyros on September 02, 2018:

Oh! How I wish to become capable one day to sing:

" I see only You, my Sweetheart, only You."

Thank you for the Light, Brother!

Rinita you are so kind. God bless your loving Heart. I'm sure that Dana is more than deserving of this honour and will be very pleased. Hari Om Tat Sat!

Linda C,

Lol. We esoterics use the moon a lot, or should I say that Light is meaningful to us. "Kissing the Light of the moon in peerless Bliss." Just one of my many past endings associated with the moon. Thank you so much!!

Rinita Sen on September 02, 2018:

This was illuminating :), and a delightful tribute to Dana. Her work is so pure, just like the eternity you described in your first poem.

Linda Crampton from British Columbia, Canada on September 01, 2018:

Though I enjoy all of your poems, there is often one line that I especially like. This time it's the thought of a kiss from the indigo moon. What a lovely idea.

manatita44 (author) from london on September 01, 2018:

Yes Linda L.

That is the gist of the first poem. Thank you so much!!

Mary,

I thank you so much! I trust that all is well with you both.

My poetry comes from my inner Pilot Supreme and the key is prayer abd meditation.

Mary Norton from Ontario, Canada on September 01, 2018:

The birth of the liberating dawn...just love this. I wish I can express such tribute but often, I am at a loss for words to express what I feel. You just have the right words.

Linda Lum from Washington State, USA on September 01, 2018:

The seasons come and go, but lover never departs. Love is eternal.

manatita44 (author) from london on September 01, 2018:

Thanks bro. Glad it reminded you of biblical scriptures. Peace.

Eric Dierker from Spring Valley, CA. U.S.A. on September 01, 2018:

I favorite light story is about lighting a lamp/candle and putting it under a basket.... or so.

I like this, I think, no sharing = no caring.
