Val enjoys writing his own style of what resembles poetry, just hoping to catch someone's heart on the same page.
If my poetry aims to achieve anything, it's to deliver people from the limited ways in which they see and feel.
-- Jim Morrison
I am so often joking about my "inferior" writing
making others feel like some masters of pen
as they find writing their poetry so exciting
calling themselves poets again and again.
In reality though -- that poetry is but a prose
that's only being put into some stanzas form
while Shakespeare used rhymes, as all know
and so many true poets made it a poetry norm.
Thus if you took out of stanzas that poetizing
it wouldn't sound at all like some poetry stuff
the only question is about their not realizing
that calling something a poetry isn't enough.
Now talking about myself, I do like what I write
and it's often better than much of what I read
but it doesn't swell into some creative delight
as if to try nurturing some writer's ego need.
I play some guitar -- but a guitarist I am not
I make oil pictures, not an artist to be called
so here I go with all these rhymes quite a lot
but I'm just a playful hobbyist, retired and old.
No, I am not raining on anyone's parade
just saying how I see my writing hobby as fine
and I don't really feel one bit in some poets' shade
but I'll forever keep making fun of each of my written line.
There are many shades of amateurism
with mine still being presentable enough
and unless viewed through a distorting prism
it looks more like literary wheat, not like a chaff.
Being merely my own version of a satirical dude
I see differently -- both my and others' creation
we all write inspired by our own creative mood
rhymes or not, it's up to everyone's perception.
