No Need to Suffer in Silence

Poetry is turning out to be a very cathartic medium, I should do this more often.

Set the Mood

no-need-to-suffer-in-silence

You don’t need to hold back,

Let your emotions go.

Go on the offense and plan an attack,

The love you reap I shall sow.

Let me shield you from the pain,

For I know it all too well.

You don’t have to feel so sane,

Don’t have to let all that pain dwell.

Suffer in silence or do so loudly,

I support you all the way.

Live your life and do so proudly,

Carpe diem, seize the day.

Let me hold you oh so tight,

Pour your emotions out on me.

Hiding it all away doesn’t feel right,

And together we can be free.

Never seek to stop the flow,

Love deserves to be shared.

Drop your chains and let us know,

That we were the ones who made you scared.

There is no need to be ashamed,

Of all the feelings that you hide.

And you should never be blamed,

For keeping us all on the outside.

You Aren't Alone

No matter what it is you are feeling, good or bad, happy or sad, please know that you are not alone. The sting of loneliness sets in when I least expect it, and it can only be remedied by the love of others, and that is a love I seek to give everyone. So that no one ever feels alone, know that you are loved and that the love within you is worth sharing with the entire world!

Absolutely, Peggy, thanks for reading!

Love is so essential. We all need to feel loved. Keep spreading the good word! May you always be cherished and loved. The entire world would be a better place if there was more love.

Thank you so much for your recognition, Shauna, it continues to be rare that I find the same courtesies and strengths in others. This is why I live by the notion, "Be the change you want to see in the world!"

Hopefully one day my efforts really begin to pay off, it'd be nice to be able to kick my feet up with some good friends and just share life together.

Shauna L Bowling from Central Florida on March 27, 2020:

I love this poem, Kyler. It comes from the heart.

I notice something about you and your writing. No matter what it is, whether traveling, baring your soul, or sharing your darker experiences, you invite people into your world. You offer friendship, a shoulder to lean on, someone to talk to. You've been through a lot. Despite -or perhaps because of - what you've endured, you are a pillar of strength. Never forget that.

Thank you, Shannon, it isn't often I actually relate well to my writings. I try to live by what I preach, but the mind tends to drift with the energy of the surroundings and we make mistakes. It is okay to make those mistakes, even be pessimistic and cautious, just make sure your intentions are never to cause long-term hurt. We all deserve to heal!

Shannon Henry from Texas on March 25, 2020:

Beautiful poem. I love the sentiment you just shared. Unfortunately, in more recent years, I have developed a more pessimistic point of view in regards to that kind of thing happening often in reality. It's a rarity.

Thanks for the follow, by the way. :) I'm on my way to return the favor. I believe I'll enjoy reading your work.

Thank you, Paula, always nice to see you in the comments. May we all get the love and support we need to heal!

Suzie from Carson City on March 25, 2020:

Kyler.....Yes, amigo mio! You absolutely should do more poetry. You do it so well. This is the sort of writing that easily helps both the writer and their readers.

Suffering in pain, is gruesome enough, without the sting of loneliness. We do need one another to support us in our healing..

Peace, Paula.
