No Fiction In Me

I have stumbled across a new passion: writing. It is proving to be insightful and rewarding.

no-fiction-in-me

There is no fiction in me, oh no, only ego for all to see.
Laughter, fun and games are my folly, please just let me be me.
I am learning with all my might, searching inside, but oh my what a fright!

Old thoughts are falling away,
New thoughts are prevailing each day.
I have a team who is much wiser, that’s why I accept them, those surmisers.

Trust and truth are my new found friends.
I know my behavior needs to change, to ask forgiveness and say I’m sorry.
It’s not always easy to make amends.

In my heart it was sealed, the truth the elders taught so long ago.
They never lied, they are only true.
They set an example of what is right.

Stay on a path of the loving light,
No longer deny that they are right.
Always be open their instruction.

As healing comes into my soul, my eyes open to see the light.
From this day forward, I will travel,
To tread lightly, and not become unraveled.

I will say my peace and move along.
I’ll keep it simple, I’ll keep strong.
Ever grateful to those of old, who gave me love, who gave me song.

Good writing.

To realize the elders were wise in their words is something we learn as we pass through life.

Hard to be at peace all the time though.

I like your title and you illustrate it well in your poem. Parts of it read like a creed by which to live. Good job!
