No Dessert

Molly writes under the pen name M. Allman. If you would like to read more of her work, you can find her books on Amazon Kindle.

Spinach makes me shudder.

Broccoli makes me hurl.

But Mom says I need them,

cause I'm a growing girl.

Tomatoes make me pucker.

Carrots make me sick.

But Mom makes me try them,

So, I give'em a little lick.

Vegetables are yucky.

I really need some sweets.

But Mom says NO DESSERT!

Until I eat my beets.

Yuck! I don't like them.

I want to spit them out.

But if Mom catches me,

she'll give an extra brussel sprout.

My only choice is to eat them.

Hold my nose and do it fast.

Maybe then I'll get some

Sweet dessert at last.
