Nightspell
Night Spell
by Bo Crandall
My tale begins at the end of a road
Where few souls dare to tread.
And to this day it haunts me so
The images in my head
The woods loomed deep in the pitch.
The sky was without moon.
I did not know to where I'd come,
But found out far too soon.
I declare where I have I've been?
The things I've heard. The things I've seen.
The things I've touched, tasted and smelled.
The night I saw her cast her spell.
All alone in the fire’s light
I saw her leap and fall
Chanting words from world’s gone by
What spirits did she call?
She did not seem to see me there
As I watched her cast her spell
What happened next is so bizarre
In words I can barely tell
I declare where I have I've been?
The things I've heard. The things I've seen.
The things I've touched, tasted and smelled.
The night I saw her cast her spell.
Her raven hair seemed to fly about
Then cling tightly to her breasts
Her naked self would dance about
Never taking rests
As I watched I felt my soul
Descend into a lifeless trance
All the world then faded away
As I watched her chant and dance
I declare where I have I've been?
The things I've heard. The things I've seen.
The things I've touched, tasted and smelled.
The night I saw her cast her spell.
From behind the brush I was pulled
By a force no one could see
The next event that I recall
Was she was over me
I gazed into her eyes so deep
She looking from above
And into her green pools did I fall
So hopelessly in love
I declare where I have I've been?
The things I've heard. The things I've seen.
The things I've touched, tasted and smelled.
The night I saw her cast her spell.
Her smile was kind and hand so soft
Both gently stroked my soul
Her warm kiss place upon my lips
Seemed to make me whole
She quietly laid down next to me
And began to know me well
A sin far worse than all rest
That could send my soul to hell
The throws of love made me feel
As if ten men burst out inside
With names like Beast and Ruthlessness
Satan, Lust and Pride
For hours we had rolled around
Our passions ran so deep
I don’t recall the pass of time
Nor when I fell asleep
I declare where I have I've been?
The things I've heard. The things I've seen.
The things I've touched, tasted and smelled.
The night I saw her cast her spell.
When I awoke a new day had begun
And was all alone
I quickly gathered all my things
And sadly started home
I looked back to where I was
The place of my desires
No trace of her or her dance
No kettle and no fires
I declare where I have I've been?
The things I've heard. The things I've seen.
The things I've touched, tasted and smelled.
The night I saw her cast her spell.
That was many years ago
And I still wonder to myself
Was it all just a dream
Or a joke from some small elf
Or was her spell designed for me
To fall into her arms
To fulfill her evil needs
All coaxed by her sweet charms
I declare where I have I've been?
The things I've heard. The things I've seen.
The things I've touched, tasted and smelled.
The night I saw her cast her spell.
