Next to You- A Poem
Wrote down the words
wedged in both our chests
Oh how they hurt
hovering over everything we do
Guide me through
the forest in your mind
call your monsters by name
like they were mine to bear
Went through your sheets
trying to collect your pieces
played a melody
with your unfamiliar keys
You know I love you so
I don't mind not being in control
I wore the smile
you said that would look beautiful
if I'm next to you.
