My Body Is a Scar

Poeticnurse is a Student Nurse studying for her BSc at the university of Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria.

SCAR

My body is a scar
chronicled in stories of brokenness,
with pieces of shame and regrets.
sometimes I fling these pieces
but then they return
in memories of hurt.
Most times, I ask myself;
Of what use is beauty if there are no scars?
Of what use is healing if there are no wounds?
