My black coffee

I am a writer, a poet, a relationship expert and a romantic.

Walking with tireless sun,

Showing me the way

Like grandfather Rob,

I stumble on love,

Who looks vigorous

Like black coffee,

With a black man's strength,

Attracting my attention;

Like magnet to metal,

Like God to love -

Some six feet cocoa

Rooting itself deep in my heart:

All I grow now

Is him.

I sleep,

Awake in his thoughts,

Sipping him all night,

Forbidding darkness to fold my eyes,

I win with this drink of mine;

Tasting like kisses,

Scenting like bedsheets,

Looking like a hot bath:

He must be raw coffee -

Why do I smile all day?

Believe in tomorrow?

And applaud my past?

He has me active on memory lane,

I thank God

It is him:

He is love.

I am healthy,

I am strong,

I am in love,

I am happy,

I am a woman,

And you are my man

All day:

Tick tock

Tick tock

I drink you.
