I'm a writer, a poet, a dreamer. Born and raised in New York City. I now live in Daytona Beach, Florida. .
My thoughts like butterflies,
flit from one to another,
reflecting on the last beautiful flowers -
of the summer that's ending.
On the beauty of a clear blue sky
and on as far back as I can remember,
my thoughts like butterflies,
have no end.
There are so many things,
that I can remember,
the good times and the bad -
but none of it makes me sad.
I'm glad that there are memories,
to be treasured
and then my thoughts like butterflies -
settle on you.
I have to smile,
you are the good that is in my life,
the love I longed for,
so my thoughts like butterflies,
will stay with you
and never fly away.
Even as the summers go by,
so many reasons have I,
to collect treasured memories,
like seashells found at the seashore.
So when one-day memories will have to do,
they’ll be in my thoughts like butterflies –
always with you till the end of time.

I have never heard anyone say one bad thing about butterflies. Now I know why. Your poem describes them and they are colorful and amazing. To connect your thoughts like butterflies was a creative idea. Once again you think outside the box. I enjoyed every line. They flowed so beautifully. Thank you for sharing.

Gypsy....Beautiful and touching, as always. I love butterflies. Watching them flutter is very relaxing and often can mesmerize..just as our thoughts can do. Thank you for these sweet words this morning. Paula.

Thank you, Lorna.
Thank you, Eric. I write in free verse where I am not conformed to any kind of poetic form and I can just write from inspiration.
Thank you, Pamela.
