My Silent Silhouette

Lorna is a published writer with a particular interest in narrative poetry, which she finds therapeutic.

my-silent-silhouette

A shadow of movement’s creative colours

On a canvas of reflected thoughts

Cast by an inner portrait of shifting images

Embraced by my own transparency

A presence in a graceful wistful dance

Held within the portals of my dreams

A companion who shines in the moonlight

Connected eternally by my own existence

This fragile being drawn into the unreality

Of a raging tempest’s magnetic depths

On a journey to the land of sacred beauty

Held within the illusions of the mind

Yet in the sunbeams where beauty lies

A love that has no shadows glows brightly

Captured within my silent mirror image

Broken by the intrusion of dawn’s reality

This is a wonderful piece of work.

Our minds can see the beauty of so much when we reflect it back using that mirror image.

Looking at the our inner thoughts, reflecting for a moment until dawn peeks its little light.. diminishing it for the day.

Great write.

So true Denise, a feeling perhaps that is not quite tangible - the unseen. Lovely to see you and thank you for your generous comment, appreciated as always. Take care.

Denise McGill from Fresno CA on March 24, 2020:

We hold a fragile thread through the darkness and mystery of the unseen until we arrive at the next dawn. I remember the artistry of those great film noir masters who would shadow the bad guys (and sometimes the good guys) in have darkness and half-light. It is some sort of a metaphor as to what we all hold within, isn't it.

Blessings,

Denise
