My Reading Habits

I can't seem to stop writing poetry or reading poetry. I think it is safe to say I love poetry and I love sharing great poetry with others.

My Reading Habits

Absorbing every word of Di Prima

Where collected poems of Lawrence wait

like Auden's Light Verse Collections lead fate

rewrite "letters." in Ottava Rima.

Would rather read some limerick by Lear

to giggle under breath in anapest

enjoy a laugh give serious a rest

put time into finding sense of humor.

Do not forget to leave the printed page

and join online to catch up with my friend

the latest from my co-workers and peers.

Though reading always takes center stage

a riveting novel I have to end

or manual when fixing a cars gears.

Reading a book on physics of sun

or Isaac Asimov on the Genome

the complexities found in chromosome

"There is a remedy or there is none!"

A real joy begins with McAfery

to join the dragons in her 'DragonFlight"

feel wind in hair as you fly by moonlight

the effect of excellent imagery.

Or feel that I am not reading at times

pick up anthology out of guilt

or story about rocket engineer.

Absorbing fee verse free of any rhymes

articles of lady sewing a quilt

and words of scripture to live without fear.

So much to read and an eclectic taste. I too love Anne McAfery and her dragon series. I read it ages ago and you're so right about the imagery - it transports the reader to another world, literally!

If you want an author who's actually billed as a travel author but writes beautifully, often poetically, try 'Landmarks' by Robert Macfarlane.

Love your poem about reading.
