My Night Before Christmas - A Poem

Writing poetry is an alternative form of self-expression and communication. What is the message you take away as you read this poem?

The night before Christmas and the cupboards are bare.

The night before Christmas and the cupboards are bare.

My Night Before Christmas

It's the night before Christmas

The cupboards are bare

I don't have a dollar

But shucks, I don't care

With a family that loves me

That's all I need

And friends that stay loyal

Ah, yes, indeed

I've never felt better

I'm blessed with good health

I count all my blessings

And add up my wealth

My world's full of beauty

I love everyday

Nature's paintings surround me

And show me the way

May whatever I do

As I travel this road

Leave an imprint of love

And a brave story told

Now my cupboards are full

With no room to spare

With music, a dog

And a family so rare

Have a wonderful Christmas

Have a wonderful year

With Angels beside me

I will see you next year

My precious Clancey watches over me from doggy heaven.

My precious Clancey watches over me from doggy heaven.
