I'll always have the best of good old Georgia to remember,
And those growing-up days of mine, I had back in the past.
Running and playing in that red clay mud was all such fun,
Fishing, and swimming, times so fine, if they'd only to last.
Georgia is on my mind, days so fine, every grand memory,
Tall trees swaying on the breeze, all means so much to me.
The full moon at night, is such a beautiful sight, then to see,
Magnolias, Jasmine's aroma, such a wonderful place to be.
Georgia days so warm and clear, the night times there sublime,
Mountain's tops blue peaks above, rivers wind to keep in rhyme.
Across South Georgia's plains, the spring-fed brooks in the north,
Create such a fine array, giving quality in ways of life, to go forth.
Sun-dappled hues across warm waters, grand forests all so dear,
Georgia roads all lead to happiness, lend to every life such cheer.
At the dawning, a sun rises to make a new day, brilliance to begin,
Throughout each day, beautiful creatures play, the wild to befriend.
When I moved away from dearest Georgia, was my heart I left behind,
For it's there I was raised and lived a happy life, to have peace of mind.
Now I long for the good times I was so blessed, days, all joy to endure,
In my thoughts, of my fondest memories, every minute is fresh, so pure.

It is true that we can never go back, except in our memories. Many blessings. whoinu

I've never been to Georgia, but I appreciate your lovely descriptions and your memories. I think fondly of the place where I grew up. Memories of childhood can be very important.
