She soothes my neck, adorns my

Princely robes; calms my soul with her virtues.

Bead one: Compassion rains from the Heart

Of Heaven; I am soaked in the tears of its ecstasy.

Bead two: Wisdom flows from the lips of Nirvana;

I learn to discriminate between Light and shadow.

Bead three: Love ascends from a profundity of fire,

My eagle-bird soars, into the bosom of Sri Krishna’s flute.

Sweet Grace, You have listened to my lamentations;

Freed me from the agonies of distress.

Your transforming justice- cauldron, burns away

My impediments; I am replenished anew.

Bead sixty: O sacred malas, you blessed me with the

Millennial boon, of ten million japas!

Now our soft tenderness and Spirit merges,

Partaking joyfully, of the sugarcane juice in Paradise.

Bead one hundred and eight. I said:

“ Form is form; emptiness is emptiness.”

The mystic-liberation-bird replied:

“In Stillness, Form is Emptiness; Emptiness is Form.”

Lantern says: “By ceaselessly chanting in Delight, I have

Become one, with Thy incandescent Light.”

-Manatita, The Lantern Carrier. 29th September, 2018.

~Awakening The Inner Light~

my-japa-mala-experience

An Inferno Of Sweetness, Rages In The Heart.

O mind, you darken my Path, like night,

Subverting the corridors of radiant Light.

Yet my inner flower relishes the mercy of rain,

Its golden droplets dancing, on the fabric of my soul.

Stunned by the magical folds of cosmic grandeur,

An incandescence of moonlight floods my core.

The starlit artiste paints a melody on my Heart,

Calligraphing the beauty and wonder of Love.

I threw myself, into the agony of longing;

Her fire consumed me, until I molded

Into Her mirror of supernal bliss,

Waltzing with sweet Arias, in Her flame.

Lantern says: “When the mire of ignorance departs,

An inferno of sweetness, rages in the Heart.”

-Manatita, The Lantern Carrier. 26th September, 2018

Rinita, a wonderful poet in her own right. Lovely tribute.

manatita44 (author) from london on September 30, 2018:

Thanks Alicia.

They are used regulaly for chanting. Some new age devotees wear them on their hands. The catholics use the rosary. Same principle.

Linda Crampton from British Columbia, Canada on September 30, 2018:

Your poems are both lovely and interesting. I have never heard of mala beads before. Thank you for the education, Manatita.

Rinita Sen on September 30, 2018:

Thanks to everyone here in the comments for wishing me well. Grateful!

manatita44 (author) from london on September 30, 2018:

Yes

I 'm concerned about the health of all my friends. However, empathy comes from Grace which enters according to receptivity.

You can increase this through selfless service, prayer, gratitude to God in mankind, singing devotional songs and service to monks. Meditation ... and so forth.

Li-Jen Hew on September 30, 2018:

Haha you mentioned about my health first. Alright, thank youuu Manatita! :)

manatita44 (author) from london on September 30, 2018:

So kind ... so kind my dear brother. Really appreciate your invaluable output and reference to Rinita.

You also show a sublime appreciation pf the poems. Much gratitude... much!

manatita44 (author) from london on September 30, 2018:

Ah Mary,

So sweet of you! I'm glad that you are using malas for Japa. It can be a very effective way to a peaceful life.

Yes. I like this word too.

Thanks you so much!

Rajan Singh Jolly from From Mumbai, presently in Jalandhar, INDIA. on September 29, 2018:

Mystical and magical! I appreciate your spiritual journey with the japa mala.

Love the master's wisdom-quote on gratitude. Expressing gratitude has far-reaching positive effects including the well being of everyone involved.

A fine tribute to Rinita whose poems I have recently come to admire. Good to learn she is better.

Mary Norton from Ontario, Canada on September 29, 2018:

Manatita, I do use beads even if only to calm me down. I am anxious about many things even when there is no reason to do so. Calming is important to me. Incandescence of moonlight is a beautiful line. I love it.

manatita44 (author) from london on September 29, 2018:

Hi Linda.

You are all picking up on it. I didn't mention it in the body of the letter. You're very kind. God bless you … God bless your family this weekend.

Linda Lum from Washington State, USA on September 29, 2018:

What a wonderful circle of love we have here in this community. I believe in the power of prayer. I wish Rinita love and peace and healing.

manatita44 (author) from london on September 29, 2018:

Li-jen,

If you think you need vitamins, you probably do. Get a superfood supplement. There are many. What you are saying is common to many, including me. Of course there are different levels so don't 'beat up' or punish yourself.

Now 'Self' with a capital 'S' means your soul. The soul is part and parcel of God and always pure. I have told you before that I am looking at your inner beauty.

In Sri Chinmoy's philosophy, we speak of the human psyche as the Soul, Heart, Mind, Vital and Body. What you are experiencing is mostly in the mind and vital - the emotional side of your nature. The sweetness, simplicity and lack of guile of the inner Li-Jen is obvious to me. Buddha Bless you.

manatita44 (author) from london on September 29, 2018:

Ah, Gina. You're here! I believe I have another poem for you here. Good to see you. So nice … so nice! I really would have made room for you in NY, but next time. Peace.

Hi Eric,

So kind, so kind of you. Yes, I love this or those lines too. I really try to weave them sometimes. Thank you so much! Love to the family this weekend.

Ah Sean,

You are here too. What a great and good Hub that you have just written. You are moving apace with Love. Guruji was all about speed. Why waste time, he used to say. Time was so precious while he was with us, in the form, that is. I still feel His presence. My love to you and family this weekend.

Gina Welds Hulse from Rockledge, Florida on September 29, 2018:

I find that mala beads do help me get to a deeper meditation, by helping me keep focus. My mind tends to wander, and no matter how "old" I get , it is a factor that I work on daily.

Loved your tribute. I'm always inspired by your words.

Eric Dierker from Spring Valley, CA. U.S.A. on September 29, 2018:

Aren't beads cool! I spent hundreds of hours chasing the ground of earth searching for Native American beads. I just loved the look on my Navajo brothers when I gave them to them as they are not mine to keep.

"O mind, you darken my Path, like night,

Subverting the corridors of radiant Light."

So accurate of Spirit. Letting that mind go and embracing love is awesome.

Ioannis Arvanitis from Greece, Almyros on September 29, 2018:

My dear Brother, both poems are superb, a celestial nutrition for Soul, but the Lantern sayings at both poems closure are truly Divine words! Thank you for them and I am glad for this excellent tribute to a noble Soul like Rinita - I wish her the best!

May your Heart shines His Light to the world!

Li-Jen Hew on September 29, 2018:

Ohh I would be scared if you were in love with what you say, my true self, because I do not wish people to perceive me as always sincere...I feel guilt. In fact, I do not treat everyone equally. I think I go according to aura and how comfortable I am with another person so the really silly and the bad side of me you may not see. Besides, your comment is only English haha. In love is another way of saying admiring in this case so don't worrryy haha.. I have not felt deep empathy because it does not come naturally to me.. Maybe I need more vitamin intake and experience..Hope you understand and it made you chuckle.. Hehe. Thanks!

manatita44 (author) from london on September 29, 2018:

Hi Li-Jen,

I'm in Love with your true Self. Hope I'm not frightening you, but I always feel a sweet, cute and charming sincerity in your comments which is not so common these days. Buddha bless your purity-Heart. Amitabha!

Li-Jen Hew on September 29, 2018:

We meet again. Kind tribute to Rinita. It's difficult to offer comfort and you did a brave thing but with sincerity. Glad it helped Rinita. Thank you for sharing.

manatita44 (author) from london on September 29, 2018:

Thanks, my Friend Bill.

Highly appreciated.

Bill Holland from Olympia, WA on September 29, 2018:

Lovely! There are so many good people out there in cyberworld...Rinita is certainly one of them, as are you, brother!

manatita44 (author) from london on September 29, 2018:

Ah, Rinita, You're better? Great!

Yes, the beads have helped many a Christian Saint and charismatic catholic, as well as Krishna devotees. It has helped me tremendously and many western seekers. Good on your grand-father.

Hope you continue to do well and get sufficient rest this weekend. Om Shanti!

P.S. The second video could be in farsee with some Punjabi mixed in. I liked the title 'voice of the Heart', and she seems to mention Allah from time to time. Do you understand it? I don't, Lol.

manatita44 (author) from london on September 29, 2018:

Ah, thank you, Jodah.

A great sentiment coming from you. Much Love, my Friend.

P.S. I appreciate your good wishes to Rinita.

Rinita Sen on September 29, 2018:

Manatita, thank you a million times over for these healing pieces. Not only do I feel better, but the beads also reminded me of a noble soul, my grandfather, who used to chant using beads. He was a Krishna devotee.

Thank you John for wishing me recovery. I am much better, thanks to friends like you.

John Hansen from Queensland Australia on September 29, 2018:

Wonderfully written poetry, manatita, and great quote. I am sure Rinita will love this, and I also hope she gets well soon.
