My Dark Prison

Lost and alone

Here but not

I can't see

Black

I can't hear

Bang

Ringing in my ears

Echo's of pain

Immobilizer, stuck and out of luck

Nothing, it's all around me

There is no way out

No exit
No light
No hope

Only darkness

My dark prison

Your poem describes depression to me Jason. Stark and honest with raw emotion. Very well written and your painting does it justice.

BRENDA ARLEDGE from Washington Court House on January 04, 2020:

Such a deep yet simple poem.

It seems to describe the torment of one who is fighting an illness where there is little hope.

Great write.

Oh my, this is dark and sad. Hopefully it is just a piece that talks about the feelings of acute loneliness?
