Beautiful Orchids

My once so beautiful orchids
Hanging on my old palm trees
Looking so sad and lifeless
Drying out without hope
Waiting for my coming back home.
My once so beautiful orchids
Planted by my loving mother
Were taken care by her
With love and passion
Until she went to heaven.
My loving mother died
My once so beautiful orchids dried
Waiting for my return
Without knowing when
Hoping to be taken care of once again.
On a hot and sunny day
I came home at last
Happy but sad
As I saw my once so beautiful
Dying out orchids.
That day I went to my garden
Relatives were wondering
To whom I was murmuring
Touching the petals
Caressing the once so beautiful plants.
My once so beautiful orchids
Cattleyas, Phalaenopsis and Dancing Ladies
Have come to life again
Radiant blossoms came out
In white, pink, yellow and violet.
My so beautiful and colorful orchids
Swaying back and forth as the wind blows
Stay as lovely as you are
I'll take care of you
As long as I'll be with you.

My Tropical Garden in the Philippines
Time Flies so Fast
Many years have passed since I have written this poem. My tropical garden is getting wilder every year. Orchids are not the only plants I have revived. I have added some other beautiful easy to care flowers in the once so "empty" garden. I planted different variations of Mussaenda, yellow, red and pink Hibiscus, Torenia flowers, Torch Ginger, Turmeric, Sapphire Showers, Roses in white and red, Birds of Paradise, Bougainvillea, Moss Roses, Zinnias, Cosmos and much more. Besides the flowers, I planted fruit trees and shrubs as well. My tranquil place visited by butterflies and birds. My garden has become a country garden taken care with love and passion.
