It is a narrative poetry of a mother who starts to talk to her daughters after much pressurizing from one of them to tell them how she can get a good spouse, because she wants a lovely family like the family where she is being raised up.

Her thought for deciding to follow the woman to the center

Which my aunt’s mother secretly supported because she must not be

Seen supporting her daughter in the open, it is a taboo in their land

Which would incur the wrath of the husband on her, as she will

Divorce her and disown the children she gave birth for the man was

That the woman whom they thought was living well would assist her

In actualizing her dreams, becoming educated, more so that she

Has been admitted with scholarship. Neither she nor her mother knew

What was in the heart of the woman for my aunt. The woman lied

To them, for deep within her she has sinister motives for taken

My aunt away with her from our island. This motive would not be

Known until months later after they got to the center where the woman lives

That was when the woman started using her as a maid,

Not long after this, the woman introduced my aunt to sex trade

When my aunt rebelled against this because she has broken the

Agreement she has made with them, her mother and her. She

Apologized to her and promised to make it up. But this never happened

For the woman cannily brings her and a man together, she obviously

Must have taken money from the man to have sex with my aunt.

She left them in the same room under the pretext that she wants to

Go and get something, but while leaving she has locked the door.

When this man and my aunt was together in the same room, the man

Would overpower my aunt and forced himself on her. After raping her

He left the house. That was how my aunt was raped.

(Other stories she shared with her daughter for them to know that what works for person Q may not work for person X would be shared in other articles)

After this incident, she became pregnant and the woman

Sends her back to our island. Her father on seeing her would

Not welcome her into the family again for assuming she has listened to him

What happened to her would not happen he said. That was how she moved

To one of her nephew’s place, for that person got the wind of what happened to

Her through a friend and pitied her condition.

She was living with this man who happens to be

One of the early educationist in our island until she

Puts to bed. After weaning the child she still desires to

Return to school, then, she traveled out of our island to

The northern part where she hopes to try her luck in continuing

Her education. She was putting up with a woman there, but

The woman was a hawker and could not sponsor her education

While she was considering on what she will do, that was when she

Discovered a young man in their environment. This young man is

Educated and was learning a trade in one of the big stores in

That island. This young man eventually started showing interest

In my aunt, and they started going out. It was not long after this

That the man proposed to her. She would tell him of her pasts

That she has a child living with her nephew. The man also told

Her that he also has two daughters living with his mother in his

Island. They have similar pasts and are in love with each other,

My aunt was advised by the woman she was staying with to marry

The man and that was how they get married. They are happily living

And would become one of the most successful business couples

In the northern region during their days. They did all they could to

Make sure that their children get qualitative education.
