Mr. Intrepid Inventor's Quest for the Holy Grail of Success
Heather has a Bachelor's Degree in English from Moravian College and has been freelance writing for more than 13 years.
Been struggling to come up with a decent formula for success
One that could ultimately rival Einstein's E=MC2 equation
Overly confident in the plan but struggling to get it off the ground
Unsure if there are flaws in just the design plan
Or if reaching beyond a presumed station in life as a regular
Jack and Jill climbing up that stupid hill continuously
Unable to get to the top and see what was on the other side
Had a concept in development for close to 20 years
Sound idea but the technique needed a lot of fine tuning
Appeared to be close to making this version come to fruition
Dreamt of being able to get this refried carcass off the ground
Even if it was only a few feet less than once considered
More than what was expected from a working stiff
Who learned things through experience, creativity and know-how
Imagined the possibilities that this idea could work
The thrill of soaring through the clouds to a better life
One where a mundane routine wasn't a factor at all
Able to take a sledgehammer to the black alarm clock
That once populated the nightstand to the right of the bed
No need to ever punch a time clock ever again
Ready to help pay off my debt, as well as my family's
Afraid of another setback taking place once again
What would happened if the bamboo broke or the ground too wet
From last night's overpowering thunderstorm
Too many variables to think about as the moment drew closer
Tired of the skeptical looks from certain family members
Too conventional to understand a dream years in the making
Rome wasn't built in a day; neither was this concept
Let's take it one day and one step at a time
Ready. Set. Run like the wind.
How far will it go? Only the wind and your feet will know.
Have faith, patience, and a little help from your friends to do the rest.
