Overtime and then overdrive
Inside the cubicle…pain and strife
Haunted by bills from nine to five…
No! Even beyond nine to five!
What a sad way to live a life!
Then at home you are all alone
Looking at pics from long ago
Waiting for friends to say “let’s go”
No one called. You are all alone.
Before you were Mr. All-Star,
Now you don’t even have a car
Applause did not get you too far
Look! All you have are ugly scars.
If you could only turn back time,
Go back to when you’re at your prime.
Don’t settle for a dirty dime;
For you were meant to be sublime.
Here’s the painful reality:
You fell not due to gravity
But because you chose insanity
Believed life is a tragedy.
It’s not too late Mr. All-Star;
God’s showcase that is what you are.
He is helping you from a far.
Preparing you to win the war.
