Missing Someone

I don't like waiting around
Sometimes that's all you can do
I thought all I can of freedom
I'll give some away for you

Everything that was long ago
It seems a time before I was born
A book without pages in between
I have to recreate what was torn

I'm no clown or medicine man
Maybe a cracked mirror of truth
Maybe I'm just a side show
My humility is space in a booth

You came seeking no fortune
I recognized what I wanted
Everything before our rebirth
Had left both of us exhausted

A bleeding wound leaves a trail
A scar is blind but not your memory
Even calm waters need a weatherman
Love tries not to think of treachery

You move your eyes for a camera
But your eyelashes move for me
I know when you're awake in the dark
Because your touch is all I can see
