Misshapen Heart of Lights
Caroline is an artist, designer and writer. She has written for several online and print publications.
A misshapen heart
Twinkles from afar
Full of specks
Of light
Each telling a
Different story
In between the
Dark spots
Each light
A star full of fire
In a vast universe
When you look closer
You remember those stories
Close to your heart
They remain
Each representing
A little brightness
Amongst the darkness

Hello Rinita! Thank you so much! That is such an amazing compliment! I hope you are well and healthy. :)
Hello John! Thank you so much for the kind words and critique. Stay safe. :)
Hello Kyler! Haha it's funny you say that. It's a mix of both! But it is funny that the rainy day affected the way you viewed the poem. Thank you and I hope you are safe and stay healthy. :)

I have to inquire as to whether or not you wrote this in a feeling of bittersweet nostalgia, or in lifted spirits?
I get a really melancholy feeling from this one. It is as if you are wandering through the darkness between those little flickering lights, trying to find your way back to their warm glow. Then again, its a rainy day and I'm always projecting my own meanings onto everything.
No matter what, a lovely piece.

Ah! Why do I feel this is one of your best? It is so full of light, and hope, and cheer. Fine poetry.
