Midnight's Deep Dream

I have stumbled across a new passion: writing. It is proving to be insightful and rewarding.

Midnight's Deep Dream

Midnight's Deep Dream

I’m entangled.
I’m trapped.
I’m free.
I’m enslaved.

The way out is blocked.
The door is locked.
The windows are all dark.
The darkness hurts my heart.

I walked a red dirt road to get here.
My feet burn and need rest.
I walked a long way.
Affection is no where to be found.

My head spins.
I still walk --in my sleep.
I dream of you.
I search for you, in search of your enticing spirit.

I talk to you in my sleep.
You talk back.
We act upon our thoughts.
We surrender to our passion.
Your spirit is on me in a flash.
We embrace and wrap ourselves around each other in seduction.

I hear music.
My mind is distracted.
I try to remember my dream.
It’s getting light outside the windows.

Morning time is upon the day.
I roll over and slumber a little longer.
Thinking I need to make some coffee,
I begin dreaming once again.

Yes, Ruby and Peggy! It is frustrating to wake from a good dream. Thank you for commenting!

Sometimes we hate for our dreams to end if we are enjoying them. Your art is colorful and was enjoyable to view at the top of this poem.

Isn't it strange, we dream about someone or an event and we don't want to wake, so we turn over hoping to reconnect once more. Beautiful!
