What is a Micro-Poem?
What is micro-poetry, you might ask? According to micropoetry.com, it is a “genre of poetic verse which is characterized by its extreme brevity. In other words, a [micropoem] is a short poem.” This can encompass many different types of poetry, the most famous probably being haiku.
The micro-poems that I write a usually longer than a haiku, but still very short compared to the poetry I normally write. They often have a twist or surprise at the end.

The Art of Patience.
In the car
I sit and wait,
As you do craft
And communicate.
It gives me time
To read and write,
So I won't complain
As many might.
You twirl a spindle
Or spin your wheel,
As I wait patient.
It's no big deal.
Next week, I'll take you
To the 'game',
You can wait for me,
It's just the same.
