Melody of the Mockingbird
A melodious concert performed and heard each day,
by my feathered friend that I hear and to know so well.
This beautiful songbird so very brightens each mood,
And does put all who hear it in such a wondrous spell.
No other lyrical performances so expressed in its portraiture,
Every note as clear and so fine, this special envoy of nature.
Hearing its own lovely design, each heavenly song is so rare.
What a splendid songstress it to be, and far beyond compare,
If I could name this precious warbler, a grand name to me,
This enchanting and beguiling gift of this world is so to be.
No woodwind in the finest of orchestras can hold its place,
Is a most special enchantment, just to enjoy it, to embrace.
