Masks Will Eventually Fall

Emee.chan is a person with a law degree who isn't practicing law yet, instead writes poems to give words to thoughts and emotions.

We all have a mask
For every occasion.
The real us pushed aside,
Encouraged to run and hide.

Life of fake smiles and even faker emphathy became our reality.
This world runs on
Fuel called hypocrisy.

Masking our insincerity,
Our pushed down insecurity
With fabricated honesty
And overwhelming arrogance.

Masks will have to fall eventually,
Forcing single one of us to reveal our true personality.
We'll have to face what we see in the mirror daily,
Accept it as our very own personal reality.
