A tome of destruction has decided my fate,

A device so devious, created by hate.

Brought to my knees based on lies and hearsay,

The Devil's bitch is what they call me this day.

What crime did I commit that was an affront to the Lord?

I said that men who are weak must rely on the sword.

A strong willed woman is such a threat to mankind,

Men of God must find me and leave me maligned.

I would ask for mercy in deciding my fate,

But these men have a thirst that can only be satiated by hate.

So go on inquisitor and initiate my doom,

Try to break my spirit and leave me in gloom.

For one day people will discover and document your crime,

And YOU will live in infamy till the end of time.

Absolutely Gypsy. Some women get labeled because they're unique and untamed. Thank you for the comment and visit.

Witches must lead such lonely lives and many of them not even witches just odd from others.

Thank you Anusha for tyhe comment and visit. A lot of people are familiar with the trial of witches, but not so much about how the manual was used to oppress women. If a woman slighted a man, or if they refused to subordinate themselves they could end up with the same fate. I'm glad you understand the message i was trying to send. Thanks again for the visit.

It is really heartbreaking, the kind of fate these "labelled" women were subjected to just for "being", just for "existing". I love the ending a lot. In fact, each line came out strong and precise. Awesome Creativity.
