Loyal to My Uniqueness: A Rhyme to Inspire

I never had need for a role model

imitations not being my cup of tea

got in habit of using my own noddle

for better or for worse as it may be.

Maintaining a loyalty to my own mind

with reliance and always sensible trust

as I'm making it more and more refined

for, whatever I don't use is bound to rust.

Mental laziness is everywhere I may look

only one is thinking -- hundreds just copy

passionately reading an adventure book

but allowing their own lives to go sloppy.

They took from others what to think

and when it's time to laugh and cry

no wonder they are ready for shrink

allowing their unused brains to dry.

With "common sense" that silly umbrella

everyone so reluctant to be who they are

it's getting hard to see some original fella

with brains not bought at a garage bazaar.

Fingerprints ignored by all

as reminders of our unique self

not hearing that inner mysterious call

just another open book on crowded dusty shelf.

I'm exploring my enigma, a passion of a kind

breaking inner walls and imposed ceiling

forever staying loyal to my own mind

with that divine, uplifting feeling.
