Love Letter to a Stranger

Poetry is turning out to be a very cathartic medium, I should do this more often.

Set the Mood

love-letter-to-a-stranger

Oh, stranger,

I saw you coming my way.

The aura around you was entrancing,

And I could feel my heart flutter as you drew near.

Oh, stranger,

The warmth of nervousness was apparent on my face.

Your beauty only grew in immensity as our paths grew closer,

And I am stuck fighting the urge to avert my eyes in timidity.

Oh, stranger,

How I do so hope you say hello to me.

Perhaps we can stop and share sweet pleasantries,

And turn this passing-by into a love so true.

Oh, stranger,

You gave me the privilege of a hello.

I struggled to return it in kind,

And the words nearly got caught in my throat.

Oh, stranger,

The air that followed as you walked away was sweet.

A heavy wave of passion did roll over me,

And like a boat in a storm, my emotions tossed to and fro.

Oh, stranger,

I hope I dwell in your mind.

I fell in love with you at first sight,

And my cowardice let you walk away forever.

Oh, stranger,

May life give you more than what you seek.

I wish that I could be that treasure in your life,

And maybe one day our paths will cross again.

Oh, stranger....

Oh, stranger....

Forgive me.

Carpe Diem

My friends, and strangers alike, please make sure you never let anything hold you back from opportunity. If you see something you want then you must give the effort to take it for yourself, as opportunity does not seize itself. Whether it be love or something less lofty, I want you to have that which you desire. I want you to have more than that.

Even if we have never met, nor ever spoken to one another, I love you. May your life be full of happiness, wonder, and adventure.

Absolutely, Meg, if seizing opportunity means hurting someone else or yourself then it is best avoided!

Yes, carpe diem (sieze the day), provided it is not at someone else's expense!

Thank you so much, Mitara, love, light, and happiness upon you and yours as well! We all deserve it!

Mitara N from South Africa on March 19, 2020:

Unspoken words of the heart, a pure expression of love being put aside to wish sincere goodwill and love to another.

"Seize the opportunity", which should be everyone's key motivation.

So inspirational

Bless your heart Kyler,

Love, light and happiness to you

This was a wonderful tale of love at first sight that was sadly not to be fulfilled. A well-written and enjoyable poem, Kyler.

A lovely romantic interlude Kyler and some very sound advice. It's nice to see this side of you - beautifully written.
