Love Dropouts: A Rhyme with a Message
Val enjoys writing his own style of what resembles poetry, just hoping to catch someone's heart on the same page.
Being alone is scary, but not as scary as feeling alone in a relationship.
--Megan Marie
A woman to die for with ease
now only a part of a boring day
that loving heart so ease to please
now hard and cold as if made of clay.
Like a romance novel about eternal love
was that story with each glance and sigh
with cherubs rejoicing in heavens above
all turning now merely into a worn out lie.
What happens to hearts whimsical, unsure
to treat their love like it's a passing game
to first see her as an irresistible lure
then drop her with no shame.
Armed with a bundle of cheap excuses
to quiet a conscience, if they have one
leaving behind them all those bruises
with the cowardly heart they just run.
Now waiting till the next victim appears
they spread their nets ready for romance
ready to cause some more of those tears
at the finale of yet another passing trance.
But there is karma and it never fails
love dropouts can't find peace at heart
like criminals of love rotting in their jails
with loneliness, misery, too late to go smart.
