Love: A Rhyme to Inspire

Val enjoys writing his own style of what resembles poetry, just hoping to catch someone's heart on the same page.

You know you're in love when you can't fall asleep because reality is finally better than your dreams.

-- Dr. Seuss

Love isn't what I would dare to define

no words could do justice to that feeling

others have called it profound, and divine

almost not to be uttered before first kneeling.

It is so much easier to say what love is not

like when I am horny, or have a piece of pie

as there are other things that I "love" a lot

but they've never made me look up at sky.

Can't "fall" in love, it always caught me on my feet

love or not, just couldn't afford to lose my mind

while surrendering enough to find it so sweet

not enough though to go completely blind.

There's something like wise emotions

that are void of any crazy self-deceiving

heart fragmented between good devotions

each with its own good taste in rational living.

We cannot love without peace of mind

a turmoil in heart polluting every fine feeling

so capacity for loving is many things combined

it can't be just a left over after all coping and dealing.

Love is like a flower to be nurtured with care

never a possession that we take for granted

it's not about a give-and-take, but to share

if not meant to bloom, better not be planted.
