Looking Back Times

I spent the same amount of time with some folks like that
Then they were gone, it just happened, nothing went wrong
Life came and went, now I remember, but my mind’s spent
I’d like to see them again, sometime maybe, sometime when

I don’t know about that old memory lane
I like to think my life is not riding the same old train
I know who made me smile and who made me frown
The emotions are gone but the story’s the same

Why look back when looking at you is the name of the game

Usually it’s ok, meet somebody, listen to what they say
It’s a book they wrote, but you’re in it, I heard how he spoke
Well he did and so did you, maybe I should just believe it’s true
Friends are friends, from the time they spent, but I’m not them

It’s a day and a forever, I guess I can change with the weather
You were excited about it, I needed a drink and a cigarette
I don’t smoke, some do when there’s too many in the boat
This water’s deep, my mind is no wading pool when I think

I don’t know about that old memory lane
I like to think my life is not riding the same old train
I know who made me smile and who made me frown
The emotions are gone but the story’s the same

Why look back when looking at you is the name of the game

I enjoyed it, Mark, but I tend to appreciate the memories and use them to better understand were I've been or shall be in some future day. I see life as a series of reincarnations where we incarnate as everyone who has done anything for or to us, so I want to know what was either in my past life or shall be in some future life. But, when we were attached and can't break it it makes for a lonely time.

Thanks for sharing it.
