Lock Of Hair

I have been writing poetry, fiction and short stories for many years and have completed a book of poems. I also enjoy comedy writing.

Lock Of Hair

Lock Of Hair

I choked on a lock of hair

Which made me gasped because of lack of air

I fell to the ground like a thrown spear

Flat like a broken car that needed a spare

The paramedics came and restored my soul

I felt like an old shoe that received a new sole.

The sound of people talking around me was music to my ear

Because i could have died choking on that lock of hair

I finally stood up and the crowd began to cheer

Then they told me to rest my legs so I sat on a mahogany chair

For a minute there I felt sunken like a pirate’s chest

As though a ship had landed on my chest.

Life scored a point today, death had none.

Ironic I was revived by a paramedic whose mother is a nun

Today was good for me, even though the Grim Reaper preyed

So I sent up one of my own, as I closed my eyes and Prayed.
