Living Life on Auto Pilot

When Dreams Fall Faster Than Raindrops

Over the years we all do so many activities

Each day may seem like the same old routine

If we look a little closer

We can clearly see so much more than meets the eye

Our friends have changed drastically from when we were in school or even college

Our tastes have changed

What we once loved

May still be our favorite

Now we just have a lot more choices to pick from

In our minds, we may still believe we are the same person

Then as we experience a dose of reality

There is no way we can be anything but different

Our own family has grown leaps and bounds

Every person developing and learning all new attitudes and ideas

If we could follow our own time line and see our life all in one place

Then it would be easy to see our constant changes

They happened quickly and many others took years

Marlene Bertrand I was hoping I didn't say the wrong thing. I just put my wife and me together to think of what you were saying connected on so many levels. I am probably wrong eighty percent of the time. I appreciate being right this time. Thank you so much for reading and sharing. I love people and nature and hopefully, that helps give me a better understanding. I also see you as a caring and giving person. Who gives too much and will put other people first before yourself. Have a nice morning and enjoy the rest of your day.

You are right about everything you said about me and now I'm wondering how it is that we have never met, yet you have the perfect picture of me.

While I did not grow up as a single child, I did grow up feeling alone. I don't know if that counts.

In any event, you have an amazing talent to be able to know people to the level that you do.

Brenda Arledge I have made many mistakes over the years and there were many different outcomes that could have happened but didn't. I keep trying to learn from my past and move to a better tomorrow. I see so many other people have such a tough time in life. I am truly blessed. I keep trying to find new ways to make life more exciting and wonderful. Thank you for reading and sharing. Have a awesome morning.

Marlene Bertrand You have a wonderful gift. Being able to enjoy life in quiet times or in the comfort of one's own home without going anywhere and visiting other people. I think you have a many hobbies like sewing or painting that keep you busy. You are a book reader and maybe grew up a single child. I love to read books and I know as soon as I open a book my world opens up. I get so involved that my mind is on one adventure after another constantly. My wife had no brothers or sisters and at a young age, she learned to play by herself and create her own fun. I grew up with three older brothers so there was always someone around to talk to and play with. As I got older I worked nights and all my friends worked days so it became harder and harder to do things together. I did more and more things on my own. I think being able to appreciate nature and life all around us is so important. It is sad that so many people miss that opportunity. I think with the use of computers more and more people have to be constantly stimulated and their brain works differently over time. Thank you so much for reading and sharing. I could be wrong with what I said I am just giving my opinion. I have a lot of fun with other people but I can also spend days alone and be just as happy. Have a great and wonderful day.

Yes we change as the tears pass us by. Sometimes i wonder how I ever got this far. Then i realize how much I have changed.

      Change is good i believe.

      Good writing

People talk about the "Coronavirus" lifestyle. Without giving it a name, I am living the same lifestyle now as I was before it was classified as anything. I love it. I learned a long time ago how to find things to do each day. Being bored has never been part of my lifestyle.

Your poem is filled with the joy of living, loving, and learning together.

Dora Weithers Growing up I never was great at any one thing. I liked many things that other people did very well. Instead of complaining that I couldn't do as well, I keep searching for experiences that I enjoy. I found that if I write about my feelings and thoughts it makes me feel better. Then if I share those experiences maybe other people can feel better as well. By always trying other things I never have time to be down and out. I appreciate you enjoying my writings even when they are not polished and perfect. I don't do a lot of pictures with my hubs for two reasons. One I am more about getting my words out there before I lose my train of thought. The second reason is I didn't know how to do it for the longest time. The reason I write poems is that it can be my view on life not necessarily the right or wrong or only way. Poems don't always have perfect grammar. I don't cause any conflict with other people so we can all see something else. Thank you for sharing and helping me in so many ways. Have a wonderful day.

What I find so interesting about your poetry is that you speak for many of us. You share so many thoughts and reflections which could be ours as well. Thank you.

John Hansen Like you I have tried to change things up a bit. It is easy to fall back into our old habits. If we have no one to drive us, then we will seldom push beyond our limits. I keep on trying to self-motivate when there is no positive influence around me. My wife helps me a lot but sometimes you need someone to push you over the top. My wife and I have done so much on vacation it is so nice to see the smallest changes. Thank you so much for all that you do. I love the things that you do that inspire and promote progress. Have a great night.

Dream On you make some very good points here. Yes, we often think our lives must appear boring to others as we don't seem to do much different from day to day. But if we really sit and think of all the things that have changed over the years it may surprise us.

While being basically confined to home I have tried to change things up a little my renovating the shed, cleaning up the garden and planting new seedlings etc. I have even started wearing some of my "good" clothes at home rather than just keeping them for going out.

It is good to just change the little things up now and then.
