Little Star - Twinkle

"It's only words, and words are all I have, to take your heart away." - lyrics by the BeeGees that I live by and strive to inculcate in life

Twinkle twinkle little star,
Why do you always seem so far?
I build stairs and I climb ladders,
But my eyes always call me a liar.

I climb mountains to build towers there,
My telescope is tired of being used to see you.
My mind relentlessly marches on, though
Little star, won't you start blazing soon?

They call me impossible and mad,
I should rejoice in the empire I’ve created, they said;
Ambition doesn’t always lead to fruition, I’m told;
But your innocent twinkle makes me lust for more.

The sun is a star, just like you,
It glares at me and keeps you out of my view,
The sun is a star, that I know,
It will definitely be easier than getting to you.

Light years away, is what they tell me.
I’ll be long dead before it’s ever possible,
‘Aiming for the stars’ are fancy words,
They say it’s better for them to remain as words.

Twinkle twinkle little star,
I’ll be gone too soon before I get near,
The sky seemed impossible too,
But no one realises that Icarus also flew.
