Little Princess and the Pig - Kids Poem

I have been writing poetry, fiction and short stories for many years and have completed a book of poems. I also enjoy comedy writing.

Princess frog

Princess frog

In a beautiful land far far away

Lived a little princess who was fair as the day

Her name was Emma and she loved to play

Her father the king loved his little daughter very much

And gave her hugs and kisses and a sweet little pup

Emma loved her pup and she named him Gem

He was to be Emma’s forever best friend

But one day the pup heard barking through the castle walls

He dug his way out and ran away with the other dogs

Emma was sad as the pup did not return

Her best friend was gone and it made her tiny heart hurt

Two weeks had passed and now Emma was all alone without a pet

Day and night she wept

But one day Emma was outside just sitting on the swing

And in the hole she heard a grunting

Emma rushed from the swing and ran to the hole

And in it was a tiny pig with a ribbon and bow

The pig looked at Emma and squealed and smiled

Emma took the tiny pig up and hugged it and smiled

Her dog did not return but she found an odd pet she would love

She named the pig Skippy, gave it a kiss and a hug

Emma loved her pig so much she asked her father to do one thing favorable

To never serve pork at the dinner table.

The king agreed and laughed out loud

And lifted and kissed his little princess whom had made him so proud.

Love it. Yes it is on reading list for tonight. I bet there won't be a pack of pigs to lure Skippy away.

I’m hoping this is not the same Emma you write about who killed the lady crossing the street. Glad she turned down pork.
