Insomniac: Like a fire burning

Like a fire burning

Like a fire burning
You are my light in my darkest life
The air of my lungs
The nourishment of my body

Like a fire burning
Your flame disturbs me
Constantly awakes me
Making me new every morning

You are the torch I have on my way home
While I pace my track in this deep night
You lighted my vision
Like always and always

Like a fire burning
You made me see you
You saved me in this life
You warmed me and this cold heart.

Beautifully written, and inspirational. Some times a person can be like a guiding light. Like an angel leading us through the woods when we are lost. Helping us to find our way with loving light. I'm glad that you found your guiding light. Great poem Crezyl.

Crezyl,

So happy to have you back.

This one speaks of the intense fire one feels for another.

There flame keeps one going through the day as well as the nights.

It's wonderful to experience this kind of love and passion.

Thank you for the wonderful read.

Great write.

Hello Elijah, I really left it open for your own understanding. But for me, it is someone who's been there. The meaning of this poem depends on the person who's reading it, when matches your feelings then that's it. Thank you for your time Elijah ❤

It sounds like fire is like who you refer to. It's something you can't do without.

Elijah A Alexander Jr from Washington DC on January 11, 2020:

Magnificently said, Crezyl, but it left me with one question, What or Who is it that is "Like a fire burning"? Is it an individual or "the understanding of life"? There is always two sides to everything so I would for it to be made clear.

Thanks for sharing it.
