Life's Ultimate Walking Unnatural Disaster in Extremis

Lost in a flood of logical uncertainty
Only thing known to the untrained eye
That Route 66 currently lead to nowhere
Feet walking on solid ground in no clear direction
Unsure if the sky is blue or just a trick of the mind
An optical illusion meant to placate the masses
Into a docile shell of its former vibrant self
Mood more unstable than the Richter Scale
Unsure how it will rate from one hour to the other
One minute an extra in a Judy Garland musical
A Lifetime movie of the week sad sack the next
Legs twitching for no apparent reason
Could be nerves or the final short circuit blowing
Nature's internal circuit board for good
When that happens, run for cover
It's unknown what the damage will entail
Best to find shelter from the storm
And wait to see what the final count is
Before making a public appearance
The aftershocks and the internal hangover
Enough to derail anyone from commuting anywhere
Stay home and avoid the mess
It's much safer that way.
