Life in a Dash
Karl wasted away his youth Now he’s old still searching for the truth
She’s 30 years old
With some issues untold
She’s got some miserable past
That took her breath away so fast
Now she’s in her grave
But her past is making the wave
Karl wasted away his youth
Now he’s old still searching for the truth
He cries every day and night
Because he had neglected doing what was right
Now he’s in his grave
With his generations living like slaves
Annie has a talent box
But buried it like a stranger’s corpse
Her life was like a day with no sun
Because she went away without using one
She’s now in her grave
With her talents in a cave
Max was my neighbour next door
Who lost his life in a war
He lived the whole of his life
Impacting and affecting lives
Guess what people say of him in the grave
The best that he gave.

Life, it ends with a dash between two dates
Fill in the dash, don’t leave it empty
Let us live that when we die
Even the undertaker will be sorry.
