Life Like a Never Ending Story

I'm a writer, a poet, a dreamer. Born and raised in New York City. I now live in Daytona Beach, Florida with my wonderful cat Sid.

if-time-could-stand-still

Life like a river flows,

it never slows,

hitting the rapids now and then.

No matter how we try to guess,

we never know when,

years like birds -

fly across eternal skies.

Life’s a never ending dance,

a ride on a swing,

which takes us up and down.

Here we see ourselves coming,

soon we are already departing,

always changing,

never rearranging

and we follow along,

as the carousel of life -

goes round and round.

Reaching for and seeking,

what our dreams

and happiness bring,

until that final curtain,

when we take our bows

and our souls

take flight,

while our hearts sing,

entering another dimension,

dancing through the starry sky,

wondering if we’ll return -

so life may once again begin.

Rasma, this part captivated me, the picture it brought to my mind,

"we follow along,

as the carousel of life -

goes round and round.

Reaching for and seeking,

and happiness bring..."

Beautiful poem.

My grandma may be taking her final bows this week, not sure. We thought her curtain call was going to be a number of times previously but perhaps this is the final act.

Very fascinating poetry, I believe life goes on and on, never ends.

Even after death story continues of your life.

A good one dear!

Yes, it is a never-ending dance ... of pain? or experience? or struggle, for some. I prefer to think of it as a dance or the mystic way: A Divine Lila or game. Nice poetry.

Jackie Lynnley from the beautiful south on April 02, 2018:

Great poetry. I believe life is a never ending story! All created by someone with no beginning and no end!

Thelma Alberts from Germany and Philippines on April 02, 2018:
