Letter From an Extraterrestrial: A Satiric Poem
Forgive me for writing and not showing my face
but in front of your beauty my looks have to hide
so don't bother asking about this far away place
just honor that blue sphere with dignity and pride.
From this distance it seems to be so clean
you must be treating it with a loving care
I wish I could admire more of that green
but the sun won't allow it with its glare.
With beauty of your kind you must enjoy
a fabulous harmony with each global brother
with nothing between you that would ever annoy
just unconditional love and compassion for one another.
I wish I could see your world closer
to enjoy that idyll of a cosmic paradise
but we have not invented a flying saucer
to see your peaceful world with our own eyes.
I would write some more, but now I must die
life is very short and very uninteresting here
but, please my human friend, don't you cry
your face looks so beautiful without a tear.
