Lest We Forget - A Remembrance Poem

I have been writing poetry since my teens. Over the years I have been published in a variety of anthologies and of course on Hubpages.

Lest We Forget

Let us take a moment,

Eleventh hour of the day.

Standing at the Cenotaph

Two minutes, silently.

We shall remember....

Every person who has paid a great cost.

Families forever altered.

Only memories survive.

Red poppies fall from the skies

Great was the loss.

Eleventh of the Eleventh.

Two minutes ... silence.
