Kite and String

This love poem equates the lover and the beloved with the kite and the string respectively.

Kite and String

I am the kite
You are the string
You hold me
You sustain me
A mere pull at you
Triggers me into the sky
Sometimes I go too high
Sometimes on the land I lie
If you sustain me
I'll be bound to you
If you let me go
Too far I will flow

Kite itself is nothing
If it is without a string
If you are held right
I, the kite, will surely fight
With all my might
To cut down all other kites
But if you are attached
To some other kite
In the dust my fate lies
To which I will fall
From unimaginable height
To meet last sleep as my plight
